AMECO Medical Industries ‘AMECATH’ was established in 2000 as a catheter distributor. The Company began manufacturing AMECATH dialysis, Urology, and CVC catheters. AMECATH was restructured into a Joint Stock Company in 2000 and listed on the Nilex Stock Exchange (Egypt’s mid and small cap stock exchange) in 2009.

The founder
Dr. Mohamed Samy El Hamboly, MD, MBA, is a renowned medical professional who has made significant contributions to the field of nephrology. He was born in Cairo, Egypt and received his bachelor's degree in medicine from Ain Shams University in 1981. He later completed his master's degree in Nephrology in 1986. Dr. Samy is the founder and former Chairman of Ameco Medical Industries. He has held several prestigious institutional and governmental positions, including Head of the Medical Division Authority. Throughout his career, Dr. Samy has been dedicated to developing and improving the dialysis catheter and enhancing the renal patient's dialysis experience. His primary focus has been on enhancing patient's journey through continuous research and innovation to ensure that patients receive the most efficient and comfortable treatments. Dr. Samy has invented several patents, including medical connection device with a valve and method, a multi-lumen catheter with a pressure resistant lumen and method, a multitube catheter, and a catheter guide wire advancement system. Dr. Samy's legacy is to educate and delegate his knowledge to everyone in the medical sector and to build on it to achieve optimal efficient technologies to help the patients. His contributions to the medical field have been significant, and his dedication to enhancing patient care is truly commendable.
