Almost 27 years ago Amecath was founded in Egypt with the vision to be the leading manufacturer for catheters and related products in the Middle East & Africa, and to grow the business globally.
Since inception, we have built and collected expertise within the catheters industry, focusing on Urology, Dialysis and CVC. We currently employ more than 400 engineers and technicians and are growing organically together with our clients and distributors, gaining additional market share. Our products are currently available in over 55 countries around the world.
We plan to continue our expansion and we believe that 2019 will be a turning point in our journey, as our catheters will be available in North and South America, as well as in additional Asian markets.
One of the main pillars in our philosophy is innovation. We are proud to consistently increase our research activities, to innovate our product range across dialysis, urology and central venous catheters through a dedicated R&D department. Recently we introduced percutaneous sheath introducers and diagnostic catheters.
In 2018, the Amecath Academy was launched, it is an initiative aiming to support the scientific community and with this fuel innovation in catheters and catheter accessories.
We collaborate with various scientific and research bodies across Egypt and the region, to identify creative potential for innovation. We aim to support promising ideas to help bringing them to commercialization, leveraging the increasing number of IP-registered innovative ideas in Egypt.
We partner with our industry peers to promote this initiative to unleash the power of innovation!
Overall, we will keep finding opportunities where others see challenges. This said, it is important to highlight the contribution of our company to society. Amecath is committed to being a good corporate citizen in every aspect of the term. We live a corporate culture that demands and supports strictly ethical behavior, diversity and equal payment, a safe working environment and community engagement. Amecath has established a three year “Brotherhood agreement” with Abo Twala village, where 10,000 person-hours of pro bono volunteer time were offered.
